US Special Envoy for Pakistan and Afghanistan Richard Holbrooke has cancelled his visit to Jalozai camp on Thursday due to bad weather.

According to the details, Richard Halbrooke was scheduled to visit Jalozai camp to meet internally displaced person and review the arrangements of their return but his visit was cancelled due to bad weather.

On the other hand, Chairman Special Support Group Lt. Gen. Nadeem Ahmed visited Jalozai camp and told media men 1,30,000 families have returned back to their homes in Swat and Buner.

38 person displaced persons have returned to their homes, he said, adding that, the displace people living outside the Province can also go back to their homes as there is no ban in this respect.

Replying to a question, he said, the Government and army is satisfied with the measures being adopted for the return of IDPs. He said the return of IDPs in Swat and Buner was stopped on Thursday to improve the measures.

IDPs during return to their homes are getting one month Ration at three points, he said. When asked about problem being faced by IDPs with regard to cash card, he said, Pakistan army is trying to resolve their issue, as majority of IDPs are illiterate.

Earlier, NWFP Information Minister Mian Iftikhar has announced interval on Thursday in return of the displaced persons to their homes.

He said that the Provincial government has announced one day break in return of Malakand IDPs and no caravan of displaced persons will leave from the camps on Thursday.
